Contentious Trusts, Probate & Property Disputes
Tim is a specialist dispute resolution solicitor whose practice focuses on contentious probate, trusts and disputes concerning jointly owned property.
He qualified as a solicitor in 2012, having previously studied at the University of Sheffield and Nottingham Law School. He joined Ellis-Fermor & Negus in 2010 and became a Director in 2025.
Tim is a full member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS).
He acts for beneficiaries, executors, trustees and individuals involved in disputes concerning estates, trusts and property, particularly where relationships have broken down and the parties cannot agree who is entitled to what.
Where a negotiated settlement is possible, Tim will seek to achieve one. Where it is not, he has a strong track record of achieving successful outcomes through court proceedings, including cases which have proceeded to trial and appeal in the County Court and High Court.
Previous clients have described Tim as “…calm, but highly competitive and invariably a pleasure to work with” and “professional, genuine and compassionate and definitely goes way above and beyond to support his clients.”
Tim lives in Chilwell with his wife, Claire, and their two young sons. He enjoys a range of sports, particularly golf and football, and is also an experienced musician.
