Charlotte Stojak appointed as Head of Corporate Law Team

April 3, 2025 11:36 am - Categorised in: ,

Senior Corporate Solicitor, Charlotte Stojak, joined Ellis-Fermor & Negus Solicitors in summer 2024. Murray Macnab who has been the Head of Department of the Corporate Team for over 10 years has recently stepped down and Charlotte has been appointed as Head of Department of the Corporate Team from April 2025.

Charlotte has over 10 years’ experience working on corporate sales, acquisitions and restructuring arrangements for local, regional and national clients.

Charlotte is Derbyshire born and bred; she grew up and attended school in the area and has been part of the rural and equestrian community since childhood, a community in which Charlotte and her family continue to be involved to this day.

After working at large legal corporations in the Midlands and London, Charlotte made the decision to move to Ellis-Fermor & Negus. Charlotte says, “the decision to move to Ellis-Fermor & Negus was an easy decision to make, as the firm is well recognised and respected in the area, with a great reputation for looking after their clients and staff alike.”

Charlotte’s experience outside of work means that she understands, and can relate to, her clients and she prides herself on getting to know her clients and their businesses. She notes, “I have been around business all my life, I come from a very entrepreneurial family, with two very strong and independent business-minded parents. I am also in business with my husband, which ultimately means that the concerns keeping my clients awake at night are likely the same concerns keeping me awake at night.  I can relate on a personal level with my clients.”

Charlotte is thrilled and proud to be given the opportunity to step into this new role and is excited to embark on a new chapter with the team and the firm.

The team work with many local businesses, in a broad range of different sectors, including: Farming, Agricultural, Equine, Retail and Industrial.  One of the main areas in which the team assist their Derbyshire clients is “succession planning”. Assisting the current generation to put plans in place to retire, sell or take a step back from their businesses in order for the next generation to step up or profit from the wealth. In Charlotte’s experience, these conversations need to happen years in advance in order for such plans to come to fruition in the most efficient way.

Charlotte will be supported in her new role by Jennifer Geary (Chartered Legal Executive), Grace Copson (Paralegal) and Murray Macnab (Consultant Solicitor). The team prides itself on providing a service which is tailored to each client and although based at the Long Eaton office, they are happy to travel and see clients in any of the firm’s five offices.

Charlotte and the team can be contacted on 0115 972 5222 or via email at Corporate@ellis-fermor.co.uk
