Our Charity of the Year 2022

What is the Charity of the Year scheme?

We began our Charity of the Year scheme in 2002 as a way of giving back to the local communities around our offices. Over the years we are proud to have been associated with many excellent local charities and to have been able to play a small part in promoting their causes.

As a firm, we take part in fundraising activities throughout the year to help raise the profile of our chosen charity and provide financial support. Highlights have included colleagues running the Robin Hood Half Marathon and taking part in their own challenges to help raise support.

Who is this the Charity of the Year for 2022?

After much deliberation between some excellent charitable causes, we are pleased to announce that this year we will be working with Joseph Cooper Trust for a second year.

Joseph Cooper Trust provides small wishes to children with life limiting illnesses, offering relief and joy to children and families during a time of immense distress. Charity founder, Tracy Cooper shares:

“The charity was set up as it was the wishes of our son Joseph, who battled cancer for 6 years and eventually passed away in June 2013 aged 14.”

Recognising this incredible work, we selected Joseph Cooper Trust as our charity of the year in 2021. This was a really successful year, and the firm together with huge support from our clients and professional contacts raised a whopping £12,000 for the charity, after many people were moved by Tracy’s story at our annual client dinner!

After a tremendous year working with the charity, we wanted to continue our relationship so they could reach their 10th year of operating and so we selected them again as our Charity of the Year 2022.

Last week, we invited Tracy along to speak at our 2022 annual client dinner to update us on the work of the charity. Again, people were very generous and a total of £415 was raised for the charity which is an excellent start to the year.
