We are pleased to welcome our new Trainee Solicitor, Simon Chevassut to the team!
Simon has recently begun a Training Contract at Ellis-Fermor & Negus, joining the firm in November 2021. Over the next eighteen months-two years, Simon will gain experience across different areas of law, working directly with the experienced solicitors at the firm. Simon is currently working in the Commercial Property Department at our Beeston office with Head of Commercial Property, Simon Hale.
About Simon
Simon studied his LLB Law undergraduate degree at Oxford Brookes University. He then spent 6 months living in North-East Brazil, leading a Tearfund gap year project there. When he returned to the UK, he completed a Children & Youth internship at St. Aldates, Oxford before working as a Youth Pastor at Oxford Community Church. Once that position ended, he completed his Legal Practice Course with a Masters in Professional Legal Practice (LPC LLM) as part of the first intake of the University of Law in Reading. He then spent two and a half years working as a paralegal in Guildford and then Reading, working in the areas of Commercial Debt Recovery and Professional Regulation.

Outside of the office, Simon lives in Carrington with his wife Phoebe and moved to the area at the start of November. Originally from Reading, he enjoys playing football once a week with friends (usually while wearing a Reading FC top!), keeping track of the F1 races on twitter, playing bass guitar in Church and spending time with friends and family. He was also glad to tick running a half marathon off his bucket list, completing the Oxford Half marathon in under two hours in October.
